Foreclosure sales are held Wednesday at the Wayne County Justice Center, 201 West North Street, Wooster, Ohio. Sales Start at 10:00 A.M. 

All sales are pursuant to the provision of the Ohio Revised Code. They are published in The Daily Record, Wooster, Ohio, and legal ads appear in Friday's edition. Properties are published 3 consecutive weeks in advance of the sale.

All bids begin at 2/3 of the appraised value of the property, unless dictated otherwise by the courts.  All sales are as is or "buyer beware" and properties are not open for inspection at any time prior to sale.

"There was no inside inspection of the property and the Sheriff is not liable for the condition of the property upon confirmation of the sale."

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office will only accept a deposit of 10% of the APPRAISED VALUE, but not to be less than $5,000.  This amount is due at the time of the sale.  The Wayne County Sheriff will only accept a CASHIER CHECK or a CERTIFIED CHECK made payable to The Wayne County Sheriff's Office.  NO PERSONAL CHECKS OR CASH WILL BE ACCEPTED. THIS INCLUDES ATTORNEY BIDS FOR PLAINTIFFS.

ATTORNEYS: WE ARE NOW REQUESTING THAT YOU PROVIDE A COPY OF THE TAX PRO RATION FORM THAT IS PROVIDED BY THE TREASURER WITH ALL CONFIRMATIONS.  STARTING JANUARY 1, 2015.  

 

BE ADVISED: The Treasurer's Office does not give refunds on overpayment of taxes. If the Sheriff's Office has a signed confirmation we will proceed with the payment of the taxes. If the taxes are already paid we will credit the account with the payment from the Sheriff's Office.
